Sacramento Self Help Housing (SSHH) in collaboration with Project Sentinel and Legal Services of Northern California (LSNC), provides telephone counseling and dispute resolution services for Unincorporated Sacramento County, City of Sacramento, Rancho Cordova, Elk Grove, Folsom, and Citrus Heights residents. The Tenant Advisors will deal directly with concerns regarding landlord-tenant disputes and help refer fair housing issues to the appropriate agency.

Sacramento Emergency Rental Assistance (SERA2) Online Application Opens May 11th

Help is available for low income renters who have not been able to pay rent and utilities because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Online applications will be accepted for the Sacramento Emergency Rental Assistance (SERA2) program beginning Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at 12:01 a.m. Applicants can go to the Agency's website at to apply. 
Landlords can apply for assistance on behalf of their tenants and tenants may also apply on their own behalf. There is no closing date to file applications.

Sacramento Emergency Rental Assistance Program

Emergency assistance is now available to support income-qualified Sacramento families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and unable to pay monthly rent or utilities. Help is available regardless of immigration status.

CA COVID-19 Rent Relief - Housing Is Key - Whether it’s a health-related event or a significant financial hardship, COVID-19 has affected us all. As our state continues to recover, we are committed to keeping families housed and recognize that California renters and landlords have enough to worry about. We want to make sure that past due rent isn’t one of them.

CA COVID-19 Rent Relief will help income-eligible households pay rent and utilities, both for past due and future payments. The federal Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 provides funding to support the program and tenant (renter) protection laws signed by Governor Newsom.
